The SANS-13 Is Coming Back, With Upgraded Lume

On October 1, we closed on buying Smith & Bradley back. The founders are running the company again, and the first decision we made was an easy one: bring back the SANS-13.

If you haven't read it yet, we wrote a letter to the people who built this brand with us. This post is about what comes next.

Why the SANS-13 comes first

The SANS-13 is the watch this company was built around. It was made for people whose jobs are hard on gear: military, special forces, government agencies, law enforcement and first responders, along with the collectors who appreciate a tool that does exactly what it's supposed to do. Over the last few years the brand drifted toward casual styles, and a lot of you told us you missed the watch that stood for what we do. We heard you.

Since the SANS-13 pages went back up, requests to be notified have been coming in every day from the United States, the United Kingdom, Austria and Australia. That told us everything we needed to know about where to start.

The reorder is already underway

We're not waiting. The reorder is in progress now for both models: the Black Tactical SANS-13 and the SANS-13 Silverback. Both keep the specs you know: a Swiss quartz movement, a sapphire crystal and 300 meters of water resistance. We expect deliveries to start in about 45 to 60 days. We'll post updates here as the run moves along, and if anything changes, we'll tell you.

Upgraded lume

This run isn't a straight reissue. We've dimpled the dial so each lume point sits deeper and holds more Swiss Super-LumiNova. From the outside, the SANS-13 looks exactly the way you know it. The difference shows up after dark: more lume means a brighter glow that stays readable longer through the night.

The SANS-13 after dark.

When you're working before sunrise, after dark or anywhere the light is bad, you shouldn't have to tilt your wrist and guess. Reading the time at a glance is the whole point of a tactical watch, and we wanted this one to do it better than before.

How to get one

The fastest way to make sure you don't miss this run is to sign up on the product page. Enter your email and we'll let you know the moment it's available:

If you've already signed up, you're on our list, and you'll hear from us first.

More to come

The SANS-13 is where we're starting, not where we're stopping. We have more planned, and we'll share it when it's ready. In the meantime, if you have questions about the reorder, your existing watch or anything else, email us at service@sbwatch.com. It comes straight to us.

Thank you for sticking with us. It's good to be back.
